KP astrology: a method guide

A careful introduction to star lords, sub-lords and cuspal analysis in Krishnamurti Paddhati.

What makes KP a separate system

Krishnamurti Paddhati is commonly discussed through the relationships among a planet or cusp, its nakshatra or star lord, and a finer sub-lord division. Cuspal positions and the method used to calculate them are central, so a whole-sign D1 house label cannot be presented as a KP cusp.

A KP implementation needs an explicit ayanamsa, house/cusp calculation, node choice, sub-division table, boundary rule, and worked comparison cases. Different software settings can shift a body or cusp at a boundary.

How to evaluate a KP result

Ask for the exact input instant, coordinates, timezone, cusp method, ayanamsa, star-lord and sub-lord tables, and calculation version. Compare like with like before interpreting a disagreement.

The chart calculator now maps star and sub-lords from Vimshottari proportions for planets and the ascendant. This is a KP-style division of its approximate Lahiri-based positions, not a complete KP chart: KP ayanamsa, Placidus cusps, cuspal sub-lords, horary charts, and predictions are not calculated.
